Privacy policy

1. Scope

This policy applies to this Pokical website. We currently provide no registration, account sign-in or payment feature. External websites have their own privacy policies.

2. Information stored in your browser

We store teams and sets, battle states and history, calculator inputs, display/language settings and your analytics choice in browser storage to keep features working and restore your session. Saved teams and raw inputs are not sent as usage analytics.

This information stays in the same device and browser and may remain until you delete site data. Team deletion and site-data deletion may be irreversible; export important teams first. Changing language or declining analytics does not delete your teams.

3. Optional Google Analytics 4

On the public production domain, Google Analytics 4 is used after you consent to measure visited pages and service usage. We do not load the analytics tag before consent. All calculator and battle features work if you decline.

Analytics may process cookie identifiers, visit times, general browser/device information and approximate location as processed by Google Analytics. The website sends page categories and is configured not to directly send team names, team IDs, raw inputs, URL query strings/fragments or external referring URLs.

Google Signals and advertising personalization are disabled in our tag configuration. Local addresses, development and preview environments do not collect analytics regardless of your choice.

4. Analytics provider and retention

Google provides the analytics service and may process data on servers outside your country under its privacy policy and service terms. Analytics cookies are configured to expire after at most 180 days without extending expiry on each visit.

The Google Analytics property retains event data for 2 months and user data for 14 months. New user activity resets the user-data retention period. This is separate from the browser-cookie expiry setting described above.

These retention periods do not apply to most standard reports based on aggregated data. Removing browser cookies or withdrawing consent does not automatically delete previously transmitted or aggregated records.

5. Requests needed to provide the service

Your browser requests pages and Pokémon data from servers. Hosting and network providers may process communication information such as IP addresses, request times, paths and errors for operation and security. This is separate from optional usage analytics.

When externally hosted Pokémon images appear, their provider receives the image request and related communication information. External links and results you choose to share are governed by the destination service’s practices.

When you import a PokePaste link, our server requests its public team text and passes it to your browser. Other teams saved in your browser are not sent to PokePaste.

6. Change your choice and delete data

Use the preferences below to withdraw analytics consent. This stops further collection and removes accessible GA cookies for this site. If analytics is already running, the page reloads to terminate the loaded analytics code.

Delete this site’s data in your browser to remove teams, battles, settings and your consent choice. Exported files must be deleted separately. Deleting only analytics cookies while keeping consent may allow new cookies to be created on a later visit.

7. Policy changes

When data practices or providers change, we will update this page and its effective date. New optional collection purposes will be accompanied by the relevant notice and choices.
